Pretoria Metal Pressings a Division of Denel (Pty) Ltd. (PMP) is a world renowned manufacturer of small and medium caliber ammunition which includes a wide range of sporting calibers.

PMP is located just outside Pretoria, South Africa. The ammunition is produced at this facility conforms to both the SAAMI and C.I.P. standards. PMP is also the proud holder of the ISO 9001 quality standard, and it also boasts a NOSCAR rating for safety.

The PMP factory was established in 1931 and has a wealth of experience in the design, development and manufacturing of ammunition. To ensure the quality of the products, PMP has its own brass casting and rolling plant which produces some 80 tons of brass strip per day. The brass, copper strips and cups produced at this plant is mainly used by PMP, but any excess capacity is exported to various international users including other ammunition manufacturers.

PMP's handgun ammunition product line starts with the 6.35mm (.25 ACP) caliber up to the .45 Auto. All this ammunition is supplied with non-corrosive, boxer primers.

The hunting ammunition product line  is also manufactured with non-corrosive, boxer primers and starts with the .222 REMINGTON caliber up to the .458 WIN MAG. A wide variety of bullets are available for these calibers including Soft Point and Full Metal Jacket Boat Tail. The range of hunting ammunition has been developed with optimum terminal effects in mind and has superb performance credentials. Given the extremes of the Southern African environment and the tough game found in this area, PMP has indeed developed and perfected ammunition which can be used with confidence under all circumstances.

PMP's range of sporting ammunition is renowned for its very high quality and excellent value for money. This is evidenced by the fact that PMP has been extremely successful in entering various international markets including Europe and the U.S.A. In fact nearly 85% of all production is exported.
