SauvestreTM Ammunition
Century Arms is the exclusive importer of SauvestreTM ammunition which is produced at their factory in France. Sauvestre is the leader of high ballistic performance ammunition which combine accuracy, efficiency and security. The different types of F.I.P. “Flèche Interne Portée” (internal arrow bullet) rifle cartridges available are .300 WSM, 7mm REM and 270 WSM. These offer an outstanding shooting accuracy and remarkable stopping power at short, medium or long distances. The bullet, made of a non-ferrous metal alloy, is equipped with circular grooves thus reducing barrel frictions, pressure loss and variations of initial velocity.
The different types of B.F.S. “Balle Flèche Sauvestre” (lead arrow bullet) cartridges available are 12 Ga. 2 ¾”, 12 Ga. 2 ¾” Mini Mag, 12 Ga. 3” Magnum, 20 Ga. 3”, 12 Ga. 3” Magnum and 20 Ga. 2 ¾”. For choked or unchoked shotguns, with smooth or rifled barrels, includes the loaded cartridge case as well as the complete arrow bullet. Its ballistic qualities come from the combination of a sub-caliber arrow with very hard central nucleus surrounded by a mass of lead or non-lead alloy and a launch sabot, made of two ring-shaped half shells that guarantee combustion gas tightness, but also the flexibility needed to go down the barrel. The double chamber at the back of the sabot regulates the expansion of combustion gases on firing and reduces recoil.
